Editorial Policy — The Foot Facts

How we research, verify, and publish work-boot guides with independence and reader trust in mind.

In short: We don’t sell boots or accept payment for placement. Every guide is built from independent research, verified technical data, and real jobsite feedback. When information changes, we update it. When we’re unsure, we say so.

Our mission

Founded in 2019, The Foot Facts was created to give workers clear, independent guidance in a crowded and marketing-heavy boot market.

We help tradespeople and field workers choose boots that actually fit their work, body, and environment—without wasting money on hype.

Our approach

  • We analyze manufacturer specs, safety-standard documentation, and customer feedback from verified purchasers.
  • We consult trade forums, Reddit groups, and worker communities to understand how specific models perform on site.
  • We compare materials, construction methods, and comfort systems across brands using public data and expert input.
  • We track model revisions and product updates across dozens of active work boot models each year.
  • We use affiliate data and reader reports to monitor long-term durability patterns, fit consistency, and replacement cycles.

Independence & integrity

  • No pay-to-play: Brands cannot buy inclusion, ranking, or a feature mention.
  • Affiliate neutrality: Commissions never influence the order or wording of recommendations.
  • Transparency: If a post is sponsored or partnered, it’s clearly labeled.

Sourcing & fact-checking

  • We cite or link to manufacturers, ASTM F2413 or EN ISO 20345 safety standards, and retailer product pages for key data points.
  • All measurements, materials, and safety ratings are verified from official documentation before publication.
  • When conflicting information exists (e.g., toe type or rating), we clarify or flag it instead of guessing.

Content updates

  • We review top pages periodically and update them when models change or better data emerges.
  • When updates are significant (e.g., new pick, changed spec), we refresh the “Updated” date and may add a note explaining why.

Corrections policy

We correct factual errors promptly. If you spot one, please contact us—we’ll verify and fix it. Material corrections may include a short in-line note.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with drafting and editing. All research, fact-checking, and final recommendations are reviewed and approved by human editors.
