Editorial Policy — The Foot Facts

Editorial Policy

How we research, verify, and publish work-boot guides with independence and reader trust in mind.

In short: We don’t sell boots or accept payment for placement. Every guide is built from independent research, verified technical data, and user experience from real job sites. When information changes, we update it. When we’re unsure, we say so.

Our mission

To help tradespeople and field workers choose boots that actually fit their work, body, and environment—without wasting money on marketing hype.

Our approach

  • We analyze manufacturer specs, safety-standard documentation, and customer feedback from verified purchasers.
  • We consult trade forums, Reddit groups, and worker communities to understand how specific models perform on site.
  • We compare materials, construction methods, and comfort systems across brands using public data and expert input.
  • We use affiliate data and reader reports to track which boots perform well long-term (fit, durability, replacements, returns).

Independence & integrity

  • No pay-to-play: Brands cannot buy inclusion, ranking, or a feature mention.
  • Affiliate neutrality: Commissions never influence the order or wording of recommendations.
  • Transparency: If a post is sponsored or partnered, it’s clearly labeled as such.

Sourcing & fact-checking

  • We cite or link to manufacturers, ASTM/EN standards, and retailer product pages for key data points.
  • All measurements, materials, and safety ratings are verified from official documentation before publication.
  • When conflicting info exists (e.g., toe type or rating), we clarify or flag it instead of guessing.

Content updates

  • We review top pages periodically and update them when models change or better data emerges.
  • When updates are significant (e.g., new pick, changed spec), we refresh the “Updated” date and may add a note explaining why.

Corrections policy

We correct factual errors promptly. If you spot one, please contact us—we’ll verify and fix it. Material corrections may include a short in-line note.

Use of AI tools

AI is used only for drafting and editing assistance. All research, fact-checking, and recommendations are reviewed and finalized by human editors.

Authorship & accountability

All content is published under Tony Bleak, the editorial voice of The Foot Facts. Each guide is researched, reviewed, and updated by our small independent team. We’re accountable for accuracy, clarity, and honesty above all else.

Reader feedback

We welcome reader experiences and corrections—especially from tradespeople wearing the boots daily. Share your notes via Contact; they help refine our recommendations.
